Caius Iulius Caesar. AR Denarius (18-19 mm, 3.92 g), mint in Africa, 46 BC. Obv. Head of Ceres right, wearing wreath of grain; behind, COS TERT downwards, before DICT ITER upwards Rev. Emblems of the augurate and pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, capis, and lituus; M (munus = gift) to right, AVGVR above, PONT MAX below. Craw. 467/1b; Syd. 1024.
Nicely toned. Good very fine.
