XXIV Olympic Games in Seoul 1988. AR prototype of the 2nd place winner medal (62 mm, 140 g. Diameter with mount, and weight including necklace: 67 mm, 312 g). Design by Sung-Chun Yang, Seoul. Obv. Victory seated above stadium, crowning the legend "XXIV / Olympiad / Seoul / 1988" with wreath. Rev. Dove of peace flying left, holding laurel branch in beak; logo above. Greensfelder/Vorontsov/Lally p. 148 var.
Unique. With original mount and necklace and in its original blue velvet box with golden logo. FDC.
This is the prototype for the 2nd place winner medal of the 1988 Olympic Games and as such unique. Unlike the later actual medals that were produced with a multi-coloured ribbon, the prototype was made with a silver necklace attached to the mount.
