Aurelianus (270-275 AD). AE Antoninianus (23 mm, 7.68 g) (!), Mediolanum (Milano), 271 AD. Obv. IMP AVRELIANVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. IOVI CONSERVATORI, Emperor in military dress standing right, holding short sceptre in left hand, receiving a globe from Jupiter standing left, holding long sceptre in left hand. Ex. P. RIC online temp. 1429.
Good very fine.
Struck on an thick and extremely heavy flan of 7.68 g. The weight is similar to that of Aurelian's later Sestertii (sometimes called Asses).
