eAuction #38, Lot 87. Estimate: CHF 250.00
Hadrianus (117-138 AD). AR Denarius (20 mm, 3.35 g), uncertain eastern mint, 134-138 AD. Obv. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind. Rev. TRANQVILLITAS AVG / COS III, Tranquillitas standing left, holding long scepter and leaning on column. RIC II, 367 var. (Rome mint).
Very rare. Good very fine.
An interesting coin of unusual style, most likely coming from one of Hadrian's eastern mints.
