Celtic, Eastern Europe. Uncertain tribe. Imitations of Alexander III 'the Great'. AR Drachm (18 mm, 3.25 g), 2nd century BC. Obv. Bulge (head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress). Rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and sceptre; winged caduceus in left field, star below throne. Lanz -; Flesche -; cf. Price 1758 (for prototype).
Rare. Good very fine.
