A note from BCD: This is a commendable attempt to fully record the
talks and events that took place during a 1969 convention dealing exclusively
with the archaic coins of Himera. The mere fact that scholars like Boehringer,
Kraay, Jenkins, Naster and Sutherland took part, not to mention the highly
respected Italian contingent, augurs well for this book. However, to be fully
appreciated and put to the best possible use, it should be read by someone not
just fluent in Italian but also interested in the archaic coinage of Himera. If
this book can show the reader how the great minds of these days functioned, it
will have accomplished no mean task.
