eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Lot 121. Estimate: CHF 20.00
Florange, Jules & Louis Ciani. Paris, 10 February
1926. Catalogue des monnaies grecques et romaines composant la Collection
Caron. 301 lots, 2 plates. Prices realized list. Original printed card covers
faded at edges. Fine. CS 1704, Spring 187
A note from BCD: One of the rarely available offprints of the
commercial supplement to Arethuse, a publication that lasted for only seven
years but left its mark in the numismatic scene of the 1920’s. Two plates of
(mostly) Greek coins illustrate this offering that is claimed to be the second
auction of the Caron collection, the first one having taken place fifteen years
before, a few months after the collector’s passing.
