Tyros (or Jerusalem), Phoenicia. AR half shekel (19-21 mm, 6.73 g), 20-21 AD. Obv. Laureate head of Melkart right. Rev. ΤΥΡΟΥ ΙΕΡΑΣ - ΚΑΙ ΑΣΥΛΟΥ, eagle with palm over shoulder standing left on prow; in left field, PMϚ, in right KP and monogram, phoenician letter between legs of eagle. RPC I, 4691
Rare. Very fine, toned.
This issue is often attributed to Jerusalem rather than Tyre.
