From the Général de Grandprey collection, ex Ciani sale, February 21-22, 1935, 437.
This Aureus, inscribed PRAETOR RECEPT and showing Claudius clasping hands with a Praetorian (most likely the prefect), commemorates the role the Praetorian guard played in the accession of Claudius to the throne after the murder of Caligula.
