Octavianus. AR Denarius (19 mm, 3.72 g), Italian mint, 30-29 BC.
Obv. Laureate head of Octavian as Apollo right.
Rev. Rostral column ornamented with two anchors on front, bearing statue of Octavian standing front, naked apart from cloak over left shoulder and behind back, holding spear and parazoniumi; IMP CAESAR across field.

Obverse off-centre and graffito in right field, otherwise, about very fine.
From a German collection, privately purchased from the German dealer Langstein in 1974 for 465 DM.
