A note from BCD: Monsieur Vinchon has now changed the layout of his
catalogue and at the same time abandoned the system of listing gold separate
from the silver. Lot 27 is a dangerous forgery, possibly by the notorious
Orphanides. A coin of the same reverse die but from a different obverse is in
the writer’s black cabinet.
