Kings of Thrace. Lysimachos (305-281 BC). AR Tetradrachm (29-30 mm,
17.18 g), Amphipolis, 288/7-282/1. Obv. Diademed head of Alexander the
Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ
ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in
her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with
lion's head; behind, transverse spear; to inner left, kerykeion; to
outer right, bee. Müller 112; Thompson 190.
Old cabinet tone. Slight die shift on obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine/good very fine.
